NUTRITION TIPS

General Nutrition Tips

  • Establish a diet based on real, whole, plant-based, and nonprocessed foods
  • Go organic whenever possible
  • If you eat meat or fish, get it from sources that have been wild-caught or organically fed without hormones and antibiotics, otherwise referred to as “responsibly raised”.
  • Choose seasonal, local produce
  • Consume raw, steamed, or stir-fried vegetables
  • Graze: eat regularly throughout the day (5-6 meals)
  • Eat slowly so your brain can catch up to your stomach and communicate when your body has had enough
  • Think “healthy” at the grocery store: shop along the store perimeter
  • Choose “Extra Virgin” olive oil and cook with coconut oil or hemp oil only
  • Use discretion when buying “fat-free” products – they are usually loaded with sugars
  • Limit caffeine to 1 cups per day
  • Eat 25-50 grams of fiber per day
  • Wash fresh fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating
  • Avoid High-fructose corn syrup
